Fáilte ar ais! Welcome back!

The children have settled back to school very well.  We were delighted to welcome 14 new children and their families to the school this year.  Our total enrollment for the 2020/2021 school year is 30 which represents the highest enrollment since 1996.  Our students benefit, perhaps this year more than ever, from our small class sizes, ample space and the additional attention from their teacher that small numbers allow.

There have been some changes to our school such as our newly laid play yard, gratefully funded by Raheenleagh Windfarm, and we hope to get painted markings for the yard in due course.  The staff room has been relocated to the prefab to provide for better social distancing between staff.  This means that our school office is no longer shared and may now function fully as an office for Principal, Ross Byrne and School Secretary, Mary-Claire.

Our school grounds are looking fantastic – thank you to our Caretaker, Gerry, for his ongoing work.  A special word of thanks to Gerry, our Junior teacher,  Ms. Ryan, Martina Bolger and past pupil, Anne Murphy, who did a great job weeding and pruning the front garden yesterday.  It is a garden to be proud of and often complimented by visitors to the school.  Children are making full use of our wonderful playground, walking track and playing field every day before school and at both breaks.

Do keep an eye on the school’s Facebook page for regular updates on what’s happening in our classrooms and on a day to day basis at school.
